Give Amelia Hope

Help us close the gap.

Warrior Amelia Baker

Amelia Baker was born in May 2021 and shortly after her birth, her family learned she had suffered a grade IV brain hemorrhage in utero resulting in damage to the right side of her brain - a diagnosis of left hemiplegia cerebral palsy, and later epilepsy.

The past four years have been incredibly challenging for Amelia and her family, requiring sacrifice and strength from her parents, Andrew and Sam, as well as her sister, Brynley.

Raising any child is hard — but raising a child with disabilities adds another layer of complexity and emotional toll.

Amelia has been receiving therapy at the Canadian Centre for Development since 2023, including intensive multi-week therapy blocks that cost $4,000 each. The results have been remarkable — Amelia has made huge strides in motor skills, speech, and daily activities. Amelia has been a past Hope for Cerebral Palsy sponsorship recipient and now, together with her family, we are partnering to cover her intensive costs for the next two years.

Our goal is to raise $70,000 to help cover the costs of four intensive sessions per year over the next two years, plus ongoing medical care and equipment.

We’ve already raised $20,000 and we need your help to close the gap. The progress we have seen in Amelia is a reflection of dedicated health care professionals and the generosity of a community that sees beyond disability and believes in the limitless worth of every person.
